In this powerful exploration of the Gospels, we're invited to see Jesus through a new lens - as the dawn of a new era. The message takes us on a journey through history, revealing how God orchestrated events during 400 years of silence to prepare the world for Christ's arrival. We learn about the rise of Greek culture and how it set the stage for the spread of the Gospel. The focus on Mark's Gospel, symbolized by the face of an ox, shows us Jesus as a bearer of burdens, capable of handling problems no one else could solve. Through the story of the demon-possessed man in Mark 5, we're reminded that our deliverance may come at a cost, but Jesus is willing and able to bear that burden for us. This message challenges us to recognize the distractions in our modern world and refocus our attention on God, understanding that even when we feel done with Him, He's not done with us.

Beyond the surface is our discipleship platform that involves teaching encapsulated within community. Both of virtual classroom and a physical gathering. Discipleship is meant to be walked and not just talked about from a distance. Jesus walked with the disciples and we know as believers that we are to do the same.

OUR MISSION
Jesus commanded us to go into all the earth, and to “make” disciples! At Surface Church, our mission is to see God’s purpose surface in people. We want to be known as “surfacers” of purpose in this world full of people searching for what’s lost.
As a community, we will accomplish this through creating corporate encounters that cultivates a hunger for personal encounters and devotion to God. Not only that, but we will equip and empower people through discipleship and demonstration of the Kingdom.

WE ARE THE COBBS
Cedric and Lauren Cobb have been friends for 20 years and married for 9 years. They have two wonderful children named Camille Halal (8) and Kylan Arrow (3). They enjoy going on date nights where they eat Japanese food and watch enjoyable movies. Cedric is the Lead Pastor and has been serving in Pastoral ministry for 8 years. Lauren has worked administratively in ministry for over 5 years. They are both enthusiastic about ministry and have more than 10 years of experience serving in different leadership roles.
